Location: Mid-Mo | I've been an electric player since 1980 but never messed with acoustic guitars much.
I bought an Applause shallow dish from a music store going out of business around 1988. I wasn't looking for an acoustic but it was acoustic/electric and the action was perfect... so I HAD to buy it.
I always wanted to upgrade to the Ovation and the other day I found a Celebrity with the (OP4BT preamp) near me on CL. Had a little neck bow so the price was right.
She said she didnt like the sticker being so viewable in the sound hole so she peeled it off... but now she doesn't remember if it is a CC24 or a CC28. (serial number is still on it)
I looked at the ovationguitars site and I can't see the difference.
Can anyone tell me how do decipher what I have?
Thanks for any help you could provide. |

A CC28 is a Super Shallow Bowl.
A CC24 is a Mid-Depth Bowl.
This is an OP4BT in an SSB...
Here is an OP4BT in a Mid-depth bowl...
See where the 'corner' of the bowl is?
Where the back of the bowl curves away from the preamp?
That will let you know which one you've got.
Also... This is the neck heel on an SSB...
This is the neck heel on a mid-depth like the CC24...
That info should help. |
