My newly purchased 1111 doesn't have a pickup so I plan to retrofit a quality model. Has anyone tried the Fishman Matrix Blend? (http://www.fishman.com/products/details.asp?id=86) and does anyone have any recommendations for pickups they have retro fitted? I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone using a mounted mike in a bowlback. Is internal resonance and feedback a problem?

While I'm here - anyone else had the chance to look at this?

It's a plaque where the serial number should be on my recently bought 1111 (probably late 70's) To me it doesn't look like it was added later. The guitar itself is in remarkable condition, frets and fingerboard unworn. Apart from a few laqquer chips it's mint. I'm desparate to know why my Balladeer doesn't have a serial number! Can anyone help?

Thanks for looking!

judging by the paper lable im guessing 1980's.

maybe a thinline pup with dirrect out like this one from emg http://www.emginc.com/displayproducts.asp?section=Acoustic&category...

or you could get a preamp and thinline pup from ovation and have it fitted. the easist way would be to just to direct out with a thinline pup....jason
