...to any 'poota' gurus attending the 'tour'.

Is there any way someone could organise a podcast, or something similar, so those of us unable to attend can enjoy the event in absentia?

I'm mainly angling for the jam.

I would LOVE to attend one of these open day/tours, and especially the jam, but I've got to be honest with myself, I don't really think it will happen in this lifetime. (Never say never!)

Getting hold of the DVD after the event is great, but nothing would beat seeing it happen as it's happening... other than actually being there, of course.

Just an idea. Is it possible??

No.

They're all drunk. Obviously except for me - it's American beer.

At a world brewing convention in the States, the CEO's of various brewing organizations retired to the bar at the end of the first day's conference.

Bruce, CEO of Fosters, shouted to the barman: "In 'Strylya, we make the best bladdy beer in the world, so pour me a bladdy Fosters, mate."

Gus, CEO of Budweiser, calls out next: "In the States, we brew the finest beers of the world, and I make the king of them all, gimme a Bud."

Hans steps up next: "In Germany ve invented das beer, ferdamt. Give me ein Becks, ya ist der real King of beers, danke."

Paddy, CEO of Guinness, steps forward: "Barman, would ya give me a diet Coke wit ice and lemon. Tanks."

The others stare at him in stunned silence, amazement written all over their faces.
Eventually Bruce asks: "Are you not going to have a Guinness, Pat?" Paddy replies "Well, if you pansies aren't drinkin', then neither am I .''

Muzza, we kind of discussed this earlier and decided we didn't have the resources available there to webcast. To my knowledge internet access isn't available at the lodge where the Jam is held.
I'm not planning to do a DVD this year, but I do plan on recording the Jam.

It would be fun, though. Maybe others with more experience at this than I do will chime in.

At least "I'm not planning" is better than "I'm not doing".

I still intend to get the previous DVDs from you Waskel. Maybe they'll cure me of my curiousity. Maybe it'll make me realise that the world is not ready for an OFC simulcast.

I'd imagine that there'd be quite a few tuning in.

And even more tuning out.

We'd need Parental Guidance warnings. "This is Uncle Brad and his friends. Do you like their pretty skirts? See how they all wear flowers. Listen how all their friends call out to them with fraternal greetings and general travel advice."

I think not.

As long as it's not French - French beer is as horrible as their wine is fantastic. I keep hearing good things about Canadian beer.
I'll be the one sitting quietly in the lobby with cliff's foot down my throat.

"fraternal greetings and general travel advice."

That's funny, I don't care where you're from!

When I hear you guys talking like this I can see why a Northwest Jam would be the perfect place to hold a gathering. We have the climates of France, UK, B.C., CT., and the landscape of the Alps. That and we stole brewing and vineyard techniques from all of you!

Check this site out and let me know which one you wanna try:

http://www.unibroue.com/english.cfm

I'll try to smuggle some across the border. Don't be fooled by the names, they are brewed in Canada, not France.

Wow they look fantastic.
They are very "Belgian Abbey beers". Brit beer is rarely if ever as strong as most of those, and never has the fruit spicing (except for some micro-breweries).
I like the look/sound of the Blanche de Chambly and the Chambly Noire.

You could have just found a new best friend. See you in the lobby.

Of that lot the Maudite is my favourite. However, as they're finished in the bottle, they sit on lees. The bottle should sit for a good bit after traveling.

I never had any trouble at the border taking beer to 'the cousins.' But I look particularly innocent. YMMV

BTW: Don't show the powerful stuff to the Americans. I think the leftovers from the PNW gathering caused gh1 some brain damage.... :p

I'll set them straight up in the cooler for the trip from Montreal to CT (about 6 hours). We can bring in a case of 24 per person crossing the border, so i should be ok with a cooler loaded with 12 big bottles of Unibroue goodies.

Ewww! If you have to mix it with something to drink it, the stuff can't be very good!
(Rye whiskey is for people who would put soda in Scotch.)

Murray, make sure they split each bottle at least three ways or it'll just be you and Shroeder stepping through the passouts. (loading 'O's into your car! hmmmmm?)

It used to be that you could take it across the line if it was for your consumption, not for sale. They wouldn't let my Wisconsin relatives take a boat load of beer across once, until they got out of the car and showed their beer guts.
You should bring the OFC dvd. That should prove it's going to be consumed.
