A guitar shop owner/friend showed this ovation back in early 1976. Another friend of mine bought it and I eventually bought it from him. It's a Custom Balladeer, but there is no serial number paper on the inside. There never has been and there is no indication (glue marks, etc.) that one has ever been there. Inside the body, at the end of the neck, the number 1495 is carved into the wood. I seem to remember the guitar shop owner saying something about this guitar being a prototype, but I could be wrong about that. I would expect the serial number to be 3 numbers, not 4. Any thoughts on this?

Welcome Briost...........pics, we need pics....

If it is a Custom Balladeer it will be model 1112 made 1973-1984.
Mid 70's would have had the metal label inside....they were prone to falling off after time.

Exactly - being a newbie, I haven't figured out how to send pics yet. I do have some, though.
