Location: Parrish, FL | It's time to put some new strings on the 'ole UTE and I'm wondering what strings you have had the best luck bringing out the characteristics of this wonderful guitar. I've been using Adamas 1818's for the past year. I've also got sets of D'Addario EXP Light (16) and Custom Light(26) on hand.
The 1818's are great but I've been getting some buzz as my playing has become more agressive.
Suggestions?

Yeah, they cost twice as much but they last more than twice as long and still sound great.
I'm really happy with them. |

Location: Keller, TX | All the above are great recommendations. However, for something entirely different, try to find some Savarez 1610MF strings. These are a classical steel string that have very low tension. Take a spacer out from under your bridge and put these on and you have a completely different sound with a fast neck.
I have my Cootie currently set up this way and will be bringing it to the tour in 2 weeks. |

Location: Poplar Bluff Mo | I haven't changed strings yet but StephenT included a set of D'Addario EXP12s (Medium 80/20 Bronze) with my new UTE. I'm going to let one of my former students (who almost has a degree in jazz guitar) change them for me. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | It already stands up and shouts. I think I'll take out a shim the next time I change strings. Its got plenty of volume, so I think I'll make it a real easy fingerpicker. |
