Thanks again to Alpep and the mothership for such a fine tribute to the early slotheads. The 1 3/4" neck is a subtle but noticable difference from playing Moody's #3.
I present #9 for your viewing pleasure:
The acoustic's in the empty house are simply awesome. It's nice to know the furniture (read: other guitars) will arrive sometime next week but for now, these two have the house all to themselves. The Tornado is visiting friends right now.

Lanaki,
sorry we could not connect in k-town. did you stay there anyway? Randy,
We wound up stopping just outside Nashville on Thursday and pushed through to Durham on Friday night. We finally made it into Virginia on Saturday afternoon.
There's always next year or you can swing up and enjoy the pool next time you're in NC.

Best pics I've seen of the OFC guitar to date. They did a great job, it really looks like an original.
....can you here any noticable tonal difference to the #47RI? |

At first I thought that you had to sell all the furniture but then I remembered... the Govm't hired the low bidder to move it!
Enjoy the acoustics of the house as long as it lasts! |

Thanks for that, and Congrats, Tim!
Don't worry about the colour of the shirt. Only baby pink will perfectly match baby blue. ;)
By the way, please don't forget - to all OFC owners - to post a picture of the carbon case, as soon as they have arrived.
Thanks, Kurt |

Location: Tidal Mudflats of Virginia | Sound....hum....very subjective, but the other half says the OFC has more of a boomy bass. I think it could just be the difference in the strings. I have EXP16's on the 47 and they definately have a different sound from the 1717's.
I know that for me, the extra width allows me to hit the chords cleaner with my big fingers and not get some much accidental muting.
Guitar rich, furniture poor...I like that :) |

Nice additional label. We are perfectly acquainted with Al´s signature on the right side. But who signed on the left side?

Location: Australia | Hasn't the Ovation line come a long way.
I remember saying some years back when I first joined this forum about how there wasn't really any Ovation guitar in the line that grabbed me.
I like deep bowl non cutaway and the didn't make one that even looked like one of the old models.
Looking at that pic of the two Slotheads just shows how the company has really come full circle offering models that you could only dream of a few years back.
As I sit here with my new 1627 Glen Campbell,Lennon Legend RI, 1687 30th Ann. RI and my #47 Slothead all I can say is :
Well done Ovation! |
