Well, Mr. or Ms. Hero...normally there is a plethora of welcomes very quickly...so I am the first.

One rule of thumb is not to get your knickers bunched up...this is a good board, many become friends.

I figured I had exceeded my quota for the day of not knowing the answers to questions. Not too many members know the value of guitars in Australia and the Ultras aren't too common. Check on a couple of our Aussie members.

One small problem. When you joined earlier today from Australia nobody in the rest of the world was awake to welcome you except for some IT helpdesk in India or the Nike slave labor factory in China. Don't take it personally. Some may have been offended by your screen name of "hero". Many believe there is only one hero and that is the lord jesus christ. Welcome to a most entertaining club.

I don't pretend to try and understand it - I have a good buddy that is an AMAZING lead guitarist, and he sucks as bad as I do at this game...it's like the great equalizer.

hero, consider welcome extended - if Tuppy makes a bad joke around you, you're just fine. ;)

Welcome hero! Just do like the rest of us, and muscle your way in. This is a great group, just don't have thin skin. By the way, anything, and I mean anything, you want to know about guitars of any kind can be found here. Just don't listen to advice I give and you'll be ok. (except for this advice) ;)

Hopefully, I gave you something useful on your other thread. Sometimes, if you ask a question about a specific guitar, you may have to wait until someone with knowledge about that specific guitar comes online.

Unless someone first spots something in your post that triggers somethingin their mind - then the thread takes on a whole new direction. Just hang on and enjoy the ride. Eventually, your question MAY be answered.

Well, I can't pass that one up, seeing everyone except the slave labour market in India and us Aussies are asleep, it looks like it's up to me.

Hello and welcome to the board...I guess you could call yourself "Hero P" but by now, some entrepreneur has probably already tried to bottle that and sell it on eBay...(where they'll buy anything you know)...lol...Welcome again to Gulfcoast as well (BTW, you sound vaguely familiar!) :D

About Tupperware: He's got to be coming to grips with the falling amount of porn on Myspace and the fact that Jesus is often listed as one of so, so many ultra-hot chick's "heroes". Dave, just change your display name to something "disciple-esque", and tell them you know Jesus (he's the guy who washes you car right?) :p :D :p :D

Paul, You already met a couple of other Ozzies on here. You guys should be able to easily convince the entire country that Ovations are the best guitars, or at least have an OFC down-under get together.

Well, Hero may be a little vain, but I'm certainly not offended by it. As to your guitar, I think that... uh.. Hey wait a minute. No one welcomed ME either! Now I'm really MAD !!! Someone better come on line and welcome me or there's gonna be trouble! I'm gonna sit right here at my keyboard and wait... And it better be a NICE one too, or I'm gonna go all Battlestar Galactica on the lot of you!!!!!

See, I always assumed you were Jimmy Buffet and just wanted to let you be normal. That's a Canadian & French thing...I think. We leave Celebs alone.

Which would explain the shortage of import Ovations here....

BTW, welcome Paul. Let me introduce you to Paul, and Paul, and Paul, and Pauly, and Paul, and James Paul, and Paul, and Paul, and Paul. And there are a few Les Pauls around here too.

You know, when I joined this board, we didn't spend time welcoming people to the board. We were too busy talking about guitars. Pretty much, you just jumped in and got jumped on......

Beal was busy calling everybody guitar-homos (including himself), Temp was calling everybody a wanker, and Clifford was just insulting everybody on general principles. Those were the days......

Not at all.

Btw, I think your doctor's advice was spot on. Or she recommend you to a good optometrist?

Can't remember what I wrote already.

The bliss of Prezenheimers. I choose to forget it all now, and beat the rush!

Don't fret that too much...I got the same criticism when I first got here, though I really brought it on myself by being vocally such a SSB guy. Fortunately for me, I'm so ornery I just ask for it, so I can't ever really complain.

Granted, I love the contour bodies too, and a deep-body 12-fret slothead Adamas is second to none, but I still grab a SSB for stage stuff as my first choice.
