Location: Stow, Ohio | I am looking for "used" but playable acoustic guitars that anyone might want to donate. I am presently making arrangements with Walter Reed Army Medical Center to bring them acoustic guitars and other instruments.
These instruments will be used as physical therapy tools, as well as recreation.
Please if you have a political statement to make, please do not make it here.
So if anyone has an old acoustic, banjo, ukulele, violin, jaws harp, mandolin, and so on. and they would like it to donate it, I am planning a trip to DC in Sept. and I am hoping to take a car load of instruments with me.
Right now I have a couple of acoustics that I did some fret leveling on to make playable. possibly an acoustic that can really only be used for slide.
I might throw in my Squier 51, and my Ibanez Iceman (Indocheapo) and maybe hit a few yards sales for a couple of small amps.
So I will probably be taking 4 of my own guitars. but I still have a month and a half to acquire more.
And on another note, I sent off a Mandolin to Iraq.
That now makes 6 guitars and 1 mandolin deployed.

Location: SoCal | Definitely shouldn't let this thread from a fellow Marine fade to the vault...not sure what I can do but I'm working on it.
Lots of things we can do to help the wounded Warriors at this facility or locally. I have been involved (contribution) in a couple of efforts for Balboa Naval Hospital and Camp Pendleton.
As music is what has brought us to the OFC, maybe this is something that can help.
As to solicitations on the OFC, other than letting us know, most of this can be by PM or email. |

I spoke to the folks at Walter Reed this morning, and they are thrilled! If I understood correctly this will actually be the beginning steps of a music inspired physical therapy program. Not to mention the recreation aspects. I will pass on more information soon. |

Location: Tennessee | I'll find something to put into the mix. If you are able to collect a fair amount, maybe some can be diverted to Brooks AMC in San Antonio ... all of the soldiers and Marines from west of the Mississippi are now being sent there for their rehab. |
