Location: Simpsonville, SC | Yesterday the Trader Jim family came to visit over night with us. We were joined by Mr. and Mrs. TRboy for a lovely dinner and get together, and even played a few songs. If it wasn't for this board we never would have met such pleasant people. After the Southern Jam getagether, and the great folks that we met there, it was nice to meet another member and their family.
Trader Jim and TRboy tried to show 'ol Beggin a few licks until I wore them out with my inate ability to screw it up. Thanks for trying guys. I promise to concentrate harder and practice, practice, pratice before we meet again.
If you ever get a chance to meet another board member, I hope that you are as lucky as we have been in meeting the nicest and kindest people (and fun) that we have. Give it a try, what do you really have to lose?
Between last night and the Southern Jam we have been blessed with, what we hope, will be life long friendships.
We hope to see you all again, very, very soon!
Jim

With all the horror stories you hear about meeting people face to face after finding them on the internet, it is really refreshing to find such kind and generous people that way. Jim and Sandy invited us into their home sight unseen, and we in good faith accepted. I can't say enough about all the friends I have met through this board. We had a blast last night, and even after being awake since 2 in the morning when we left Fla., I managed to stay up till about 10:30 being entertained with (despite what Jim will tell you) great guitar playing on his and TRboy's part. (had to pry the UTE away from them and I never did check the case when I left. I hope it's still in there...) Hope to see you guys again soon(Orlando?) Thanks so much again for putting up with a drummer/hack guitar player and the warm hospitality! You better make it to Tennessee this week so we can reciprocate! :D |

Randy, can you believe it?
Lol, sounds like a great time: wish the family and I could have dropped in: but then the children would have kept us all "entertained"...
Blessings... |

Mari and I had a fantastic time at Beggin' Jimbob's house!
Jim and Sandy hosted a mini OFC get together at their beautiful home in Simpsonville....and Sandy whipped up a fine tastin' dinner! (although I still haven't figgered out yet why these southern folks didn't have any 1,000 Island dressin'  :D ) Also met their daughter and son and his son's cute little boy!
Got to meet Trader Jim and his wife Nancy(?)and their son Paul. we enjoyed a little pickin'-n-grinin'....and for just about a year from making the switch from drums to guitar,Ole Trader's got himself some pretty good chops!! He's a natural!
We enjoyed the music, food, and fellowship very much....The Trader clan turned in early 'cause they had to get on the road early next morning, but Jim and I stayed up and BS'd a bit while Mari and Sandy watched a chick flick....We gave it up about 1:30-1:45 and headed home with the memories of a wonderful evening spent together with guitars and friends......
....Jim, I'll call you Monday! (maybe.... ;) ) |

Many, many thanks for y'all's hospitality last night and today! The Beggin's feel privilaged to have spent more time with the Trader's. Just remember that Jonesing for the Martin's could have dire results?! ;)

Location: South of most, North of few | Yeah, the Martin is still in my mind. We had a whale of a time also, and thank you guys for taking the time to come and visit with us in God's country. I'm just happy to have escaped all of our "visits" with the UTE still in my possession. (at least I think it's still in the case) ;)
GGG, give our love to Cathy, and our prayers are with you guys for a quick recovery. |
