Location: 6 String Ranch | If there was a Matt Smith Clinic on Amelia Island in March. Arrive Thursday(or earlier if you want) and depart Sunday afternoon(or later). The actual clinic would be Friday and Saturday with a recap or small subject on Sunday AM.
Cost would be reasonable, a couple hundred or so if enough come. You cover your own lodging and travel.
I haven't talked to Joe at the Florida House yet but I assume we'd have it there (Floridahouse.com or friskeymermaid.com)
I have talked with Matt and he likes the idea and would be interested in doing it, but we've gone no further than that.
Topics would be determined by what you guys want, songwriting or country or blues or slide or..... Matt is great at these.
OK, post away. Thanks. |

Location: Tennessee | Assuming the local authorities don't have me on one of their special lists, I'm in. The Florida House is a great venue for something like this.
I need to learn everything, but I would lean toward a songwriting clinic that involves a little bit of all of it (construction, leads, rhythm, slide, etc). |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Well the Car show is the first weekend(7-9) so that's out, they fill the hotels. Frankfort is the second weekend. The Tennis Bitches are April 7-13 so that leaves three possabilities, March 21-23 which is Easter, (maybe a problem); March 28-30 or April 4-6.
I'd rate them 1) 3/28-30, 2) 4/4-6, and third 3/21-23.
I was thinking $200-300 range, it's to cover the cost of Matt, the teaching room, and the group meals. |

For those who may be undecided, Matt is a fantastic instructor and you will learn more in the one weekend that you might ever expect. |

He is a great teacher although he'd look real funny in a bunny suit.
I'm leaning toward the first chioce listed. It may take several weeks to get this all set up.
More as I get it.
As far as how many, 10 would be enough, 15 would work, 20 is probably too many |

What's the drive time from Atlanta? Something like five hours or so? I've got some business stops I should make in the greater Atlanta area, so I may be able to make this into a two birds, one stone thing. And then maybe I'll bring Angie along, so that makes it three birds. Can't miss. |

Actually we could do a whole "human nativity" thing. Or, rather a human "easter-tivity" or whatever you'd call it. Need one of our female members to show up and play Mary. But the rest of us could dress up as middle easterners and push the big rock away from the enterence to the cave. Actually more like opening Bill's garage door, but stay with me. Inside we expect to find the dead jesus. But NO! HE's GONE! And in his place, dressed up in swaddling clothes and a beret it's ... ALPEP !!!!

It's looking like March 28-30. I need to confirm with Matt and Joe.
Weather on Amelia is great in late March
Yes Cliff, the package arrived and has been read completely. A wonderful little book called "Alice Cooper, Golf Monster" Good tips in there, I used them and shot a 83 yesterday. |

I'll get confirmation from Matt soon. That is the week we're looking at th3e 27th-30th.
5-6 hour drive from Atlanta Omaha. Just get out to 95 and go south and take a left at the second exit in Fla. Go for about 12 miles or so till you hit Center street and go left on it down 5 blocks to 3rd St. and left again for 1 block and stop at the Florida house. A piece of bacalava. |
