Location: Sao Paulo - Brazil | Hi, nice to meet you! My name is Thiago, i´m from Brazil. I have a CS257 Celebrity Deluxe Ovation, but i simply can´t find the correct info for it. It has a flamed top under this green finish like i never saw before on other similar models. The preamp is OP24+ not a OP30, as it should be.
The serial number is 9029721. Would you please help me?
Thanks a lot,
Thiago |

But....How about the finish? Have you seen another like mine before? |

Location: Tennessee | The son of one of my friends had a Cs257 with a flame maple top in green ... but his seemed to be a much brighter green than yours seems to be. Does your photo show the true color? |

Location: Sao Paulo - Brazil | Well, it´s impossible to show the exact color, because of monitor calibration and other technical issues. However, I can say that the color in this photo is very similar to the real thing. It´s a dark green, depending of the angle, it seems grey.
Could you take a picture of the CS257 you mentioned?
Thanks! |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I've seen them in brighter green, too. They made them in tons of colors and changed often. I bought my daughter a CS247 in Nutmeg Quilted Maple, that I thought was pretty rare, but I've seen several on ebay since. I don't think they ever did anything "rare" with the Korean guitars. The whole idea was volume. |

Location: Tennessee | What CWK said ... The green on my friends is really, really green. I can't get a picture, but it is not subtle whatsoever ... it is like this one without the burst:

Stonebobbo: it´s certainly a nice and beautiful example, but mine is absolutely different... Note the flames on top, the absence of burst on sides. And the green is much darker... Another data i forgot to mention: My CS257 has a satin black headstock, not woody!
Mark: Thanks again! But i searched for similar ones at Ebay´s for years, even in another tons of green and other colors, but never, and i meant NEVER found anything close, body finish and headstock. Did i find the "Holy Grail" of Kaman guitars? :D
Regards,
Thiago |
