But I would like to see real pictures of the guitar, if interested.

They are that good. |

But wouldn't you have thought that Ovations flagship model would have held it's value better than that? Kind of sad for dealers. I mean who would buy any new ovation when you are pretty much assured of being able to buy the same thing used for 2/3 the price a year later.
Anyway, these are great guitars and it's good that one of our guys was able to snag it.

Yeah, but Dave's was autographed (and personally presented to) by cwk2, so that covers a buck-fiddy of the price (okay, . . make it an even $2). |

Honestly, I agree with Dave.
Various reasons for selling their guitars. Especially Ovation & Adamas I worried about that.
I will always choose to buy any guitars in great condition or new condition from my friends or dealers. They would be happy for selling them to me.
Would you, Alpep? (I purchased 1187-247 Ri #80 from Alpep)

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Congratulations Povation! Not many could stock a guitar store with their personal collection of # 47’s! You do have a fantastic collection and if I ever get to visit Thailand,
I will be sure to look you up to see it in person if you would allow me to do so.
Yes, Povation got a great deal…but he also has some steep shipping fees and perhaps a import tax or duty as well. The person that bought my Esquire had to pay $200 in customs duty. My 1187-247 was a bit more expensive but so what? To me it’s worth every penny and I believe that model will increase in value in the years to come...but the real worth in guitars for me is the feeling I get from owning these fabulous instruments and getting to choose what I want to play when I want to play it; I’ve been playing for 42 years and it wasn’t always that way...Also being able to pass them on to my kids when I'm gone...As with any portfolio, it pays to diversify! I am very proud and humbled that mine includes a 47 RI...
And again, thank you Leslie! |

You're well come to Thailand. Please inform me before what kind of food you prefer, I allow you to do that.
Thank you Leslie too, selling #87 to my friend.
I absolutely owe Mike and Lanaki now.

Mike deserves that #87 - couldn't send her to a better home. Have fun this weekend Mike -I will be able to hear you all the way to Texas.
As for the price of $2,500 - there are many reasons for someone selling a gutiar for less than it's worth - finances out of control is one. We all know that feeling. With a price like that, he knew he would only have to list it once and have immediate money. Also, the guitar market is way down - it will come back - like everything else
Now, who on this board has not gotten a screaming deal on a guitar that was worth much more because someone was in need of money? Looking around the room - I think I see some smiling faces. :D
The 47 will go up in value - let's talk again in 5 years. |

Location: Thailand | Please don't be serious about $2500 for Adamas 1187-247 RI that I won the bid. Because I think the guitar maybe just in excellent condition or Rate 9 of 10. I don't care because I intend to bid for my friend in Thailand or keep it for myself.
Everyone who visited to my house do love all my Adamas 1187-247 #47 RI.
Thanks Kaman Music Corp. & their Luthiers. |
