Location: Waterloo, IL | I am looking to add one more guitar stand to the group that I have to make sure that I can have at least three guitars out when I am home monthly so that each is ready to play when ever I want to sit down for a few minutes to play. However, I want to make sure that I can put my Balladeer or my Pacemaker on it without having to worry about which guitar is in which stand.
Is there a particular Hercules stand that I should get that will fit the Pacemaker and the Balladeer ( and maybe the Hamer as well)? Thanks. |

Location: Chehalis, Washington | Are you looking for a triple? Hercules makes a really nice triple "grab" stand that will hold any Ovation guitar, and holds them securely so they don't fall over.
I've got a single and a double, and both are awesome. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | The Hercules will just barely fit the 2 inch neck, but it works and is the sturdiest out there. I leave mine in the family room with a guitar. With the dog, cat and people, it keeps the guitar stable. |

Location: South of most, North of few | Chuck, maybe think about Herc wall hangers. I leave mine up on the wall all the time. Keeps them up out of the way, and away from things like feet and pets. Plus, it adds a little decoration to the room.

| me too... love the herc stands..
and the Bluebird/UKXII is almost ready to plug up,
can't wait to hear what she sounds like.
I'm considering the Hercules triple myself.

Location: Reno, NV | I like the Hercules 414, However I purchased a 412 from Music123 and the realease mechanism didn't work properly, it got hung up every time, like it was binding somehwere in the linkages. So although the Herc's are great, Im 50/50 on failures right now... :-( |

Location: NJ | I use a Herc double stand at gigs for the 6 & the 12, and it's also got a mic boom attached to the top. The Ultimate stands are GREAT too! I've got a few of those, and bring two of them along (they fold really well) for the LongNeck and the nylon.
I'm pondering a Herc triple . . . |

Location: Waterloo, IL | Right now I use two Ultimates to hold the Balladeer and the Echotone. However, I want to have the Pacemaker out so that I can pick it up easily as well. With 30 days out on the road, then home for 5 days, I really don't want to go with wall hangars. The guitars would only collect dust while I am gone. I prefer them safely in their cases when I am out on the road. Then I can pull out nice clean guitars to play when I get home. The Pacemaker with its wider neck is my only concern, as the Ultimates hold any of my guitars well. However, I really like the Hercules, but have not been able to find anywhere locally to buy them. Once I do, I want to make sure that it will work with my Pacemaker as well as my Balladeer. |

Location: South of most, North of few | Chuck, the Herc stands will work with the pacemaker. The wall hangers have the same hook arrangement and if you look at my picture, the one on the left is a pacemaker. |

| they don't like the 2" nuts on the wide necks.. 1-7/8" and the 12s fit ok.. but the classical binds
think there is a wide neck version tho.

I've only used hercules wall hangers because they are the best for me.
Very good security for my guitars and I can hang each models I owns (6 or 12 string, slotheads, solid bodies etc...) .

Location: 6 String Ranch | I use the Herculese with the little grabbers on them. You have to be careful because over thim the foam pads will slip down a bit and you can get dents on the sides of the pegheads. I've cut the corners off and rounded them over and then moved to foam up about a half inch. No problem anymore. In Florida teh wall mounts are the same Herc grabbers. |

Over time, a chemical reaction can discolour the finish . . . |

Location: 6 String Ranch | This foam is hard and just slides down a bit over time. What Cliff says is true though, particularly the old Anvil cases. I remember getting a Travis Bean once that had been in the case for a couple of years and the finish had welded itself to the foam. A complete mess.
Felt would be good except it's easy to slide on that, not something that is desirable in a stand. With the clamps on the front you're safe though. I think the biggest thing is just rounding off the hard sharp plastic edge behind the foam pad. That's where my dents came from. |
