I just picked up a 1981 1112 that has suffered some pretty nasty damage to the top. Gluing and cleating top cracks is routine here, but this one has a spot that kinda troubles me; it looks quite jagged. It would be much much easier to repair this and do a much better job of hiding it if I could remove the top. Is it even possible to remove the top from the bowl, or is is epoxied for life?

I haven't peeked inside with a mirror yet, so I don't have all the info.

Otherwise I'll just go inside and do the best I can, I just figured I'd throw it out there.

It has been done...

In fact, I have a step by step article on how to do it.

This doesn't involve JeffW's penchant for medieval technology does it?

The last time I saw Jeff remove a top from the body of an Ovation Guitar he did it this way.
