Location: Columbus OH and Cape Coral FL | I picked up a gently used (almost mint) Celebrity CE 48 Shallow Bowl. I noticed the high e string has only about half the volume of the b string. I slacked the strings and found two shims. It seemed odd that the shims did not fill the bridge channel. I lightly sanded both with 800 grit to get rid of a slightly grainy feel. I checked the metal channel the saddle rests on, and saddle, pickup, pickup channel and bridge route all liiked clean, and ok. I reinstalled the shims touching the trele edge of the bridge channel to make sure there is no void. Still, there is a volume discrepancy. The shims are necessary to prevent buzzing.
Is this common. Have I missed anything? Am I making too much out of this?
