I'd guess a hundred or two less than a grand.

With the crack, who knows. If it went to a grand, I'd be surprised.

Looks like a laquer crack. I doubt if it will affect the price that much. The neck looks very clean. Bet Beal's right.....

I can't believe someone never invested in a hard case for it. My guess on the price is 750.

Would Ovation have originally sold this guitar 'without' a case? That seems a bit unusual..

I could make up a long, rambling story about the case, Ted Cummings of the Vernal Sheriffs department and the unfortunate incident involving Uncle Timmy and the German Shepard at the New Years Eve party 6 years ago.... but... I'm at work right now & much to busy for such nonsense.

$773.00, IMHO

I'd bet either the case was sold separate by some cheezy shop, or the guitar was stolen out of somebody's house at one time. Did I say $750? Maybe I'll change my guess to $650 since there's no case.

Thats Ebay's way of not letting anyone know who is bidding. They do it on the highter priced items now.

I don't see what the problem is with knowing who's bidding. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! By not knowing who is bidding, it seems as though it would make it easier for someone to run the price up on their own item.

I disagree. First, exposing bidders identities spurred an entire industry of bogus 2nd chance offers. Secondly, it's nobody's business but my own what I am bidding on. You all know that I will bid on interesting guitars but frankly I would like to keep my interest in turn of the century gynacological gear somewhat private. Dave

... Mark, and everyone else ... Sorry for the repeated posts. After making my entry and pressing the "add reply" button, nothing happened. So of course, I pushed the button again, and the same nothing happened. After repeating that a couple of times I gave up. That pretty-much explains it. I guess it's time to clear my internet cache again.

I'm glad they made that change with the **** instead of the user names. I used to get these fake second-chance offers. They looked real, and I checked with the real seller on the first one, and we were both surprised it came out. Who thought that scammers were watching auctions for VOX Tonelabs? Pretty obscure auctions for scammers to pick up on.
