Yeah, I heard that on the news. No, I don't often listen to opera. But he did make the genre more accessible to a wide audience. Which is something to be proud of, and to be remembered for...

And he looked good for seventy-something years old, and sounded great.

I agree with OMA he certainly did a lot to popularise Opera with the general public and the world.

Yes, a tremendous loss...he will be missed and will never be replaced...such a fantastic talent...whether you liked opera or not, you had to be amazed at his voice!

Saw him a few years ago when he came into Denver. He never could act worth beans when he was performing a role, but nobody cared. His voice was the tenor standard of the entire opera world for many years.
