Good luck Cliff! I'd be there if I could. I'll be there in spirit though.

I noticed that you're doing some solo gigging too. What kind of stuff are you doing for the solo gigs?

It looks like Cliff finally ran out of "fat" jokes.

I'll have to get to the last show (at least).

Rick's looking to get back into the "full band"-thing.

I'm just looking to do some sporadic solo gigs at a few select places.
Maybe develop a cadre of rotating "guests" t'come and sit-in for a set whenever they're available . . . something different from the SAME tunes to the SAME drunks EVERY weekend . . .
(It's gettin' pretty "old" for Jeanette, as well)

I think Beal's got me inspired t'do some writin' as well . . .

Clifford, what are the chances of you and Rick recording some of this stuff for posterity? I can pretty much guarantee that you'd be glad, in a few years, that you had a record of it....

Today is my practice day with BrianT. As I grabbed my guitar case early this morning I took notice of the official TWO MAN GROUP sticker Cliff gave me a couple years ago. I saw that one edge had lifted off of the case. I ran my thumb along the edge in an attempt to re-stick it down but it would not stay. I tried again, a little harder this time, only to make a slight tear in it. Seems like there is nothing I can do to save it. The prognosis is grim. I estimate that by the end of the year it will deteriorate completely and be gone.

Putting up with a bunch of drunks is a lot easier if you're one of them. I don't know that I could take many more nights in smokey bars. It didn't bother me when I was young, but I couldn't handle it any more. I still remember kissing my baby daughter goodnight after coming home from a bar and having her tell me to go away because I stunk.
It looks like it was a good run while it lasted. Hope you enjoy your semiretirement, Cliff. Does this mean you won't have to update your website?

Thankfully, NewJersey banned smoking in bars a couple years ago (with the exception of CigarBars). I usually tried to avoid drinking at gigs, as it affected my pipes.

I didn't maintain the website.
I just designed/updated the schedule page.
I'm researching setting up my own . . .

My experience except I didn't have kids when I stopped...and we didn't have the luxury of no smoking bars...they all stank! And so did I when I got home...smelled like an ashtray...It took me three years to get my lungs clear of the smoke...seriously! 1975-1993-a good run and now I can really enjoy playing w/o the drunks pouring a pitcher of suds down my new monitor or hearing the requests for (put your least favorite song title here), and the aforementioned smoke screen...I still enjoy trying to remember the old songs but I really like the new stuff I am writing and learning...
Good on ya Cliff!

Wish I could make it up for the gig on the 2nd... unless you wanna push it back to the 3rd...

Was it Rick's obsession with that annoying Asian woman or that he shaved his head and refuses to wear panties that did-you-in?

You may need to make a few edits to your bio. :)

I don't know for sure if Mark was joking, but it made me laugh, anyway.

Seriously, though, for your new site. Let me know if you still want a piece of Jas art. I've been stiffing a couple of OFCers on some special requests and I need to be a better friend.

I was joking. I took a few shots at Cliff periodically, for saying his bio was under construction, or words to that effect. Now that Al finished his construction project, Cliff had a chance to break his record, but they'll have to shut down the site.

Actually, the whole "bio"-thing was a joke.
When we were formulating the webpage, I kept telling Rick "yeah, yeah, yeah . . we need a "bio" section!!"

Rick finally relented, set it up, and did this whole extensive bio on himself.

When he asked me where MINE was, I said:

" . . a "bio" on the webpage?? . . . that's just SO f@ckin' "GAY"!! . . ."

I'll "miss" sh!t like that . . .

George, drinking tea in his apartment with his girlfriend: "I-I've given this
a lot of thought. I'm sorry, but we, uh, we have to break up."
Maura: "No."
George, after hesitating: "What's that?"
Maura: "We're not breaking up."
George, after hesitating: "We're not?"
Maura: "No."
George, after hesitating even longer: "All right."

Jerry, with George at Monk's: "She said no?"
George: "She said no."
Jerry: "What did you do?"
George: "What could I do? We fooled around and went to a movie."
Jerry: "George, both parties don't have to consent to a breakup. It's not
like you're launching missiles from a submarine and you both have to turn
your keys. Obviously, you didn't make a convincing case. Let me hear your
arguments."
George: "Well, I don't really like her."
Jerry: "That's good."
George: "I don't find her attractive."
Jerry: "Solid."
George: "I'd like to sleep with a lot of other women."
Jerry: "Always popular."
George: "Sometimes at restaurants she talks to her food. 'Oh, Mr. Mashed
Potatoes, you are so good.'"
Jerry: "You have an airtight case."
George: "And in bed--"
Jerry: "I'm afraid we're out of time."
