| Ovation recently announced two new USA made guitars, an Élite and a Legend, both sport a mid bowl and have a cutaway. I love the idea of new Ovations made in the USA, but would have preferred a deep bowl without the cutaway. Your thoughts? |

I can live with the cutaway.. but the deep bowl would be nice. Maybe that innovation will come next (we hope). |

| I wonder how that would feel... The mid bowl already feels big to me. I mostly dig my super shallow Tangent. It can't beat the sound of my Balladeer though. |

Thanks for the link. And yes. Let's hear it. I mean, they guy was holding two of them, so it would be nice if he were to at least play a few chords and actually speak and elaborate more than 45 seconds of cell phone camera fast-talk on it if they expect us to come and spend "twenty-five-hundred bucks" on one. I checked the Ovation website and can find nothing about the new USA-made. The site's "news" section takes you absolutely nowhere.. so I suspect they are going to build a very few of them.

Location: Canada | Thanks they look nice with walnut appointments. But yeah they need to get them out for reasonable price. The AX junk is way too pricey so I doubt they will be offered for reasonable amount. |

Those are deep? They look the same as my Balladeer that I thought was a mid bowl. I am not sure I understand the difference. |

Location: Canada | I think that the contour bodies are all "deep". But I notice the lack of TRC so it is not a LX neck. I really hope that they don't use set necks for these. |

Location: Pewaukee, WI | Thanks for the link! The made in Czech Republic guitar looks interesting, as does the Celebrity Deluxe with the side holes. I'm interested in the US made Elite, but may have to save up for it. But I like the carved bridge. |

Looks awesome. I'm very curious about the side ports. And it's great to see Ovations made in CT again. I also want to try out some deep contour axes. I wish they made basses with that bowl too. |

| I’d be interested in the side ports as well. I picked up a cheap Enya nova go just to test out how it would work if I strung it up as a piccolo guitar. The surprise was that the side port served as an unexpected proof of concept of just how good any guitar could sound with a side port.
I’m definitely interested in Ovation’s take on them. My use case may be different from how they perceive the market though. I don’t think I’d want any electronics—just a straight acoustic model for woodshedding or living room use when I wanted “in my face” sound. |

| I just checked with a dealer on the new Legend. No information on availability and they are not on the 2024 price list.

Location: Gardnerville, NV | Personally, I think a return to earlier times is in order. Spruce tops with a couple of different colors, ALWAYS using the original rosette design and different prices if you want to pay for Balladeer, Custom Balladeer, Artist, Glen Campbell Artist, Legend or Custom Legend. Elites and Adamas are in a separate league of their own. |

| In a recent FB video, they claim that the production is starting and the guitars will be available by the end of the year.
I'm very tempted by the Elite... |

Location: SoCal | I wish I were in the market. Ovation is once again making guitars that talk to me. But new guitars are hard to justify while owning a 1537 / 87C / 1983 1117, all in great condition. These new guitars make me wish I were a young man just starting down the guitar road and carrying a full load of G.A.S. |

| I read aomwhere that they have mid bowls, if they actually have deep bowls this changes everything for me. I love deep Ovations, I may be very weak...

It's listed as a 1767 which should be a deep bowl and the models they showed off at NAMM were supposed to be deep bowls so (fingers crossed) it sounds like they are making US deep bowl Ovations again.
FlySig I also sent an email about the errors in the listing to sweetwater we'll see if they change the description.

Here is a listing from Thomann it says bolt on neck with 2 way truss rod and has the TR cover on the headstock so looks like an LX neck design,it says roundback and under specs it says DB which I hope means deep bowl,I wouldn't trust the sweetwater specs

This! I would have no other option but to pull the trigger if they do wind up producing one. |
