Location: Snåsa, Norway | I found this article about the blues and the "blue notes", and wanted to share it. It's written by a Norwegian music professor, I don't know more about him than I could read from the article, which I found very interesting (but that may just be my weird inclination to social sciencies). Anyhow, read it if you like, it may serve as an intellectual alibi for staying here, if such is needed! :D |

"My argument is that the Harmonic Foundation of Blues, Rock, and some Jazz styles, in emic terms and performance practice, in fact represent a totally different conception to that of the Western functional (tonal) harmony and also represents a different conception of dissonance/consonance in Music!"
Hell Yeah! I couldn't agree more! |
