A Oops with my "new" Ovation and never doubt their acoustic Engineering.

I traded a PRS for a beautiful and great sounding CS 257.  On the second day of ownership it slipped as I was taking out of the case on to the rug. It MAYBE dropped 5' inches onto the top of the neck and I heard a Oh-No crack. Off comes the neck.

It seemed weird as it was a very light hit. Upon inspection and cleaning of the pocket I found the glue had turned into almost a powder.

A good cleaning, alignment and the proper adhesive and she is all back together sounding even better. ( A happy accident?

The acoustic engineering part of this story is when I first put the strings back on after the repair. I strummed it and it sounded very tinny and blaaaaa.  I had forgotten to put the access cover back on.  I installed it and AHHHHHH Sweet Music again!!

Got to love an Ovation!
