Good afternoon! I have acquired what I believe to be an Adamas but can't find any identifiers other than the name on the headstock. There is no serial number stamp or label. It is the matte black w/ sparkles, ornate bridge and purfling, high and low impedance jacks and preamp w/ tuner. The guy I got this from said it came from an Ovation employee. This was supposed to be part of a 4 lot special order and only 3 were taken. Of course the joke around here (I live in Eastern Connecticut) is that everybody has an uncle that worked at one of the Ovation factories so who knows! I will attempt to attach pics. It looks similar to a 1581-5. Thanks for the help!

The blue lined case gives a clue to the date of manufacture but I don't know the details. Someone here will know when they stopped making those. Outie epaulets, skunk stripe 5-piece neck (I think that makes it LX era?), no truss rod cover on the headstock, the particular model preamp. You should be able to at least get a range of manufacturing date.

Definetly an Adamas, looks like a hybrid between the Adamas I and II.
Not LX era it would be earlier I'll guess late 90's(LX guitars have truss rod covers) based on the Optima preamp.
It looks like a Super Shallow bowl Adamas II model 1881 with an Ebony Adamas I carved bridge.
Look inside for a label that may have fallen off even if it was a custom order it should still have had a label probably 1881-X.
How does it sound that's the important part

The 1881 seems to be the general consensus. I looked inside and no label so maybe the guy was right about the custom order thing. Solving these mysteries is half the fun! Thanks for the info!
