I am changing strings on my 1537.
I just cleaned my fingerboard with a damp facecloth and water.
Scrub it wet. Scrub it dry.

I use Mineral Oil (baby laxative) on my Ebony and Rosewood fingerboards.

What? If anything? Should I be using on my Walnut fingerboards?
1537? Adamas 1681, and 1881?

This is for future reference, because I will done changing strings before anyone answers.

I've always treated them the same way I treat ebony. I use Howard Feed N Wax. Put it on, let it soak in for 30 min then wipe it off. Maybe 2-3 times a year. If I want to clean the fretboard, then after I put it on, I scrub it (going across the fret board and frets) with OOOO steel wool. Then wipe it off. Never used water. Seems to work. I've done this for years......

The walnut is impregnated with some kind of polymer. I don't apply any kind of oil after cleaning.

I steel wool the board the way Paul said, but dry, which also dresses up the frets nice and shiny, then cloth-scrub it with Windex diluted 50/50 with water and dry it off. No oil of any kind. I've done it like that forever on all types of fingerboard woods.
