My 1658 Custom Legend 12 string recently threw off its rosette (long story). As a result about half of the abalone puzzle pieces were ejected from the rosette. Does anyone know what type of glue should I use to attach the pearl to the rosette?

And, additionally, what glue to attach the rosette to the guitar.

My late brother owned this guitar and the rosette was reglued to the top many years ago with what looks like yellow glue and I guess it just gave it up after three decades. I was able to get most of the glue off the top and shell pieces.

Thanks!

Paul

Well I don't know what glue but I bet Dan Savage does
He rebuilt a rosette for "The Black Pearl" in this thread

The factory used epoxy to glue both the shell pieces to the rosette and the rosette to the top.

Yellow glue is a wood glue, so it's not surprising that it let go.
