Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I'm a little too tired to write a lengthy message after the last several days, but I wanted to let everyone know that at 1:12 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2007, my wife gave birth to Thomas Patrick McGuire. He was 21.5 inches long and weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces. He's healthy as a horse and eats nearly as much. Mom is recovering nicely and is in great spirits. He came home from the hospital today. We have both been up for most of the last two nights and happily expect many more sleepless nights to come. :p
Little Thomas (I call him Patch. ;) ) is amazing.
Please say a little prayer for this new soul; that he grows up happy, healthy, strong, and loving. |

I remember how I felt when I sat down under a tree in my front yard with a neighbor and a six-pack, thinking about having just become a new Papa for the very first time. There are few more humbling moments in life than the birth or death of a loved one. |

I've always wanted a kid... so I could perform various social experiments on him...
Just think of all the fun you're gonna have... |

| Congrats! My youngest (a boy) turns 1 year old in a week and a half, so I know how you feel - exhausted , proud, and more than a little scared. Best wishes for a bright, healthy future. |

As for the feedings, well, it's not gonna get any better--if he's eating like a horse now, prepare for the mastodon later!! (Spoken with all the wisdom and experience of the mother of a 25-year-old son.) ;) I will certainly say a little prayer for your new dear one.
Best wishes,
Karen |

Find yourself a recliner, put him aginst your left shoulder, lean back, and close you eyes. This will be the best sleep the both of you will ever have.
Congrats! My 'baby' spent last night applying to colleges. They grow up way too fast. |

i've got a three year old daughter, ariana, a year old daughter named chloe and an 18 year old daughter, katy, that i have been transporting to and from college and work lately. katy moved out of our house and into student housing a couple days ago. what an epiphany! sleepless nights start all over again when your all-of-a-sudden-grown-up child begins staying out late. |

It seems like only yesterday he was my little shadow and wanted to learn to play guitar. I miss the child, but love the grown-up both my kids have become. Enjoy these tender years with your "lil Patch". |
