On a recent visit to Ovation's website, the USA six strings are no more. I'm kind of bummed. Granted, at $2500 it was unlikely I would ever buy one. But still, it was nice to know they were there. The only current USA models left are the beautiful (but insanely expensive) Adamas guitars.

I think they stopped making them quite a while back and were just clearing out old inventory.

Thankfully there are many thousands of USA-made O sixers in existence, and people like those of us here who keep them in good condition and changing hands around the world for the true connoisseur. On the alter angle, the Asian-made six-string Ovations are showing an excellent value for their pricing and are great guitars for someone who wants to purchase something brand new from a merely practical standpoint. I bought one a year and a half ago as a gift for my nephew and it plays and sounds wonderful. Now, getting the little lunkhead to actually pick it up and use it is a whole other issue, so I will one day be handing him an old (something) and bringing the Asian O home to my own stable.

PS: I have been on hold with the DMV for over an hour now and have not only made a couple of OFC posts while waiting, but have also written a really nice lead for the wait music on the phone speaker.

Hope you got headphones. I have even been under my car changing my oil while on hold with my headphones on. Hands free no sweat doesn't matter how long it takes I will wait for you!
