Don't know that I could spend too long listening to his routine but I do enjoy bits and pieces. And Bona can play a little bit too...( :eek: ). I've always thought of Bobby McFerrin as the guy who could sing and do a lot of stuff with his voice, while simultaneously make percussive rhythms as he beats on his chest. After his hit song back in the late 80s, I never heard anything from or about him again until he started making collaborations with notable classical musicians - cellist Yo Yo Ma comes to mind with the album "Hush." What really surprised me was that he also happens to be an excellent conductor. As artistic director of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, he has made numerous performances, with them. The music performances were quite diverse, from the classical masterpieces of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven to the more contemporary jazz-influenced music of Gershwin, Thelonius Monk, and the late Leonard Bernstein (his teacher). Check out the album "Paper Music" featuring the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and McFerrin as conductor and soloist. Very highly recommended. :)
