Generally speaking the guitar is in flawless condition.
The guitar comes with a 9158 deluxe case, with a key.
I also installed a new set of Elixir Nanoweb Custom Light strings. I have modified the guitar by replacing the OEM saddle with my fully-compensated saddle.
I also mounted the upper strap button to the cut-away. After doing so, I found this was unnecessary on this guitar. I moved the strap button back to the upper bass bout and installed a domed cover over the hole I drilled in the cut-away.
Because of these modifications, I'm lowering the asking price substantially.
Asking price is $2,599 shipped anywhere in the Continental USA.
Shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, Canada or anywhere overseas will require a quote for additional shipping costs.
Here's some photos of the guitar. Fully Compensated Saddle Domed cover. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I own one of these and I can attest that it's a really special (and rare) model. I would call it basically a cedar topped custom legend with exquisite wood binding and rosette work. To my ears the sound (unplugged) is perhaps a bit more mellow than the usual spruce topped legend or custom legend. Personal preference but to my ears that mellower sound is what I desire. Dan's asking price is a bargain for such an instrument. Somebody is going to get very lucky on this one. |

Location: Pueblo West, CO | Agreed. It is a beautiful looking and sounding guitar.
Since building my Frankenvation and Black Pearl, this one hardly gets played any more. |

Location: When?? | This issue just never caught me much as being a Custom Legend in terms of the CL model's traditional linage. Too old school for my own good, I guess, but still a good selling offer for such a nice guitar. Now, should you ever decide to put the Black Pearl on the sales block I may perk up to that one. |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I remembered going to the 50th anniversary gathering and pretty much wanting one of each model. They are wonderful instruments, but with prices being what they are for everything right now and a daughter who just went to college, I have to check my account balance before buying a guitar pick, much less a guitar! I would have happily paid Dan's original price. At under $2K, this is a ludicrous deal! |
