Location: Central Illinois | As someone who grew up in the '80s, I remember when everyone was playing the "superstrats" and "pointy" guitars like Kramer, B.C. Rich, Charvel, Jackson and others until Guns N' Roses came along. As soon as the video for "Welcome To The Jungle" started getting heavy airplay on MTV and guitarists saw Slash with a Les Paul, everyone suddenly wanted one. From my perspective, Slash is the one who really brought back the Les Paul and made it popular again. |

Location: northern Georgia | Just looked up the wikipedia article that was referenced and am somewhat amused that they left out the influence of the Allman Brothers, starting in about 1969. It is hard to imagine Duane Allman or Dickie Betts playing anything but a Les Paul. Toy Caldwell of Marshal Tucker played one one, and so did Charlie Daniels. |

Location: When?? | Wow.. so many names apply to chose only one. Maybe start a thread like the one on here of pictures of famous performers playing Ovations. It would probably run a dozen pages for the Les Paul in that reincarnation era, each in their own right.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | After attending one of Les Paul’s shows, Keith Richards went backstage and told Les Paul that a lot of rockers in Britain still loved the early out-of-production models. Les Paul then went back to Gibson and persuaded them to reintroduce the earlier model. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | The guy I had in mind was Bloomfield. He influenced all the others. Then I heard another version that John Sebastian influenced Bloomfield and from him Clapton, Green, Beck, the Allmans etc |

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours. Remember Chester and Lester I and II, c.1977-1978? I personally think these 2 albums revived Les Paul's career and/or influence on all genres of players. I saw, "The Paulverizer" on TV, as a teenager. I was Neil Young wannabe at the time, and went out and got myself an Ibanez lawsuit Les Paul. It weighed 11 lbs!
