Location: NW Washington State | Which era? I'd say Mike Bloomfield around 1966. Maybe Slash in the late '80s.

Rich, Charvel, Jackson and others until Guns N' Roses came along. As soon as the video for "Welcome To The Jungle" started getting heavy airplay on MTV and guitarists saw Slash with a Les Paul, everyone suddenly wanted one. From my perspective, Slash is the one who really brought back the Les Paul and made it popular again. |

It is hard to imagine Duane Allman or Dickie Betts playing anything but a Les Paul. Toy Caldwell of Marshal Tucker played one one, and so did Charlie Daniels. |

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours. Remember Chester and Lester I and II, c.1977-1978? I personally think these 2 albums revived Les Paul's career and/or influence on all genres of players. I saw, "The Paulverizer" on TV, as a teenager. I was Neil Young wannabe at the time, and went out and got myself an Ibanez lawsuit Les Paul. It weighed 11 lbs!
