Hello all, I'm new to the forum. I have a USA 1868 elite built in New Hartford. I suspect it was built in the 90's or 2000's. I like the guitar but find the V uncomfortable. If I were to have a luthier reshape the neck by taking down the V would they likely hit the truss rod in the process or compromise the stability of the neck?
Do they all have V profiles? Anyone else find the V uncomfortable?
Do any comparable shallow bowl USA Ovations have more of a C profile?

Depending on the Year of Manufacture... Your V neck may have a Kaman Bar truss rod system.
That would mean that there is a big chunk of Aluminum inside of the neck...
That would mean that you cannot really "shave" the neck to a different profile.
If you do not like the feel of the neck, you need to find a different guitar.

After saying all that.
I have never heard of anyone reshaping an Ovation neck.
