I have recently purchased a Balladeer 12 string with the inlaid rosette. There is finish cracking around the rosette and it looks like it may be trying to lift off of the guitar. Once it does it's pretty much unusable. Inlaid rosettes are pretty much impossible to find along with the hassle of removing the old one and trying to finish over the repair.
Thoughts include heat to flatten the rosette and CA glue to fill in the cracks and secure the rosette to the guitar.

Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance!

Your ideas sound reasonable to me.

Use a blow dryer to heat the plastic just enough so it become pliable, press it down and hold it while it cools.

Use the thinnest CA you can find. I recommend Pacer Thin ZAP. It will be able to wick into all of the cracks shown in the photo.

Use the included tip and teflon capillary tube to control the flow. Without these the thin CA will stream out of the bottle and get everywhere.

Afterward you'll need to use a single-edge razor to level the surface, then progressively finer grades of sandpaper and polish to bring back the finish.

Myself? I'd forget trying to repair it and just enjoy it.
