I needed to change the pots on my DIY guitar as they had got noisy. It has two P90's with a 3-way switch, one volume and one tone pot. I decided to go from 250k to 500k pots but this means the tone-pot really kills the volume when its in the lower half of its range. In fact the 250k also did this but with the 500k, its worse. Any ideas?

Your potentiometer is in the wrong place.

Oops, schoolboy error! That did improve it but still reduces volume at low tone settings. Do I need to change pot taper, resistance, or capacitor?
