Location: NW Indiana | Hey Everybody, I'm in the market for a Glen Campbell Ovation. Of all models and reissues, which one do you think sounds the best? Thanks, Rick |

Location: Phoenix AZ | The original Glen Campbell Deluxe Balladeer (deep shiny bowl, X-braced top) is by far the best of the lot. There weren't that many made but it's worth searching for. The 2018 torrified isn't bad, but like all the other artist and mid depth variations its acoustic sound pales in comparison to the original. |

Location: SoCal | There were probably fewer than 50 GC Deluxe Balladeers built. I haven't seen one change hands since I sold mine 10 years ago. My personal opinion is to go with a 2006 reissue or the 2011. Both of those had a mid depth bowl instead of an artist depth bowl. That 1/4", I believe, makes a huge difference in sound. I've never played an artist depth Ovation that impressed me with it's acoustic sound. That's a personal opinion and your mileage may vary. Or as Chet Atkins used to say, "That's my opinion and it should be yours as well". Lol!

Location: Indiana | moody, p.i. - 2019-08-16 4:49 PM Cool Jm. What's the story on it? What's the special order part? I was in the Keyman/artist thing at the time, Paul. David Bergstrom was awesome to us. Ordered a 1677-7 Legend shallow bowl cutaway with a Custom Legend 1119 fretboard and rosette. My friend Mike Lennon, Ovation affiliated luthier in Spring Hill Tennessee then, added a few special inlays here and there. This is an awesome sounding instrument after 37 years.

How about a shiny bowl Deluxe Balladeer; what Glen Campbell played before Ovation put his name on a guitar? |

That particular guitar, last I saw, was in the Country Music Hall of Fame. If you're asking how many shiny bowl DB's were built, I have no idea. Great guitars tho'....... |

Do you know if that happens to be the same guitar he used filming Norwood? |

Didn't mean Glen Campbell's actual Deluxe Balladeer, but a Deluxe Balladeer, as representing a guitar played by Glen Campbell, if the original poster can't find a Glen Campbell model. |
