Hi,all. I've owned the same Ovation since 1981. Bought from new in London ,Model 1617, serial 250939, cherry burst colour (I think, unless there"s another similar shade). I've always understood it"s a custom legend but it has no cutaway and the volume/tone knob is situated near the neck rather than near the battery screw halfway down the body. Can someone help me be certain what model I have? I"ve tried all kinds of other accoustic guitars over the years and in my opinion nothing matche's the tone, the projection and playability of this great instrument. It has a few very minor issues and hasn't seen much use recently but I plan to get it back in top shape and enjoy playing it again. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks, Nigel.

Glad that you Like it, Nigel.

You seem to know what you have.
No cutaway on a 1617.
Just an old Legend with a pickup.
