The "Bad Kid" from Toy Story has returned! Check out the images in my gallery, under "BFLG Laboratory", and look for the "Topper" pictures.
Essentially, I replaced the peghead on a busted-up Pacemaker, with a 6-string slothead, complete with Waverly tuners. Still working on the action, but it plays pretty good, and REALLY projects with the medium-gauge Earthwoods on it.
Actually, the lammination is mahogany-poplar-mahogany-poplar-mahogany, but seems to work out OK.

That's a fine bit of Grafting you did there.
You learn that in Botany Class?
I am impressed!

Yeah, the curse of a "hard science" curriculum. The aesthetics could obviously be improved, but try finding close-grained, 30-year-old mahogany stock!
Adding to the equation: Motivation & Approbation= Determination!

Hey, look at it this way. Unca Beal just sprayed them down with splatter paint when they didn't match!

You took something broken and made it work. That and you didn't do it in a Bar or an alley.

Now if you can just figure out a way to make it pay...

Vocation & avocation. Must maintain a balance. Just bought a 25' travel trailer, too. Guess what I'm planning! Now I gotta find a 3/4-ton, with a low-mileage diesel, to pull it. The 4.6L F-150 ain' gonna git 'er done, Bubba!
Working up the next project- Cedar-top, deep-bowl, Matrix-aluminum-neck, with walnut-graft peghead, 6-string. Handmade rosette, of course!
