Need help Identifying Ovation Bass guitar

I have owned an Ovation Viper 1271 since 1978 when I got one of the first ones (E 15737) off the line at the New Hartford, CT plant from my second cousin who worked there. Now, I have an Ovation Semi hollow, shallow body w/f holes Bass guitar with the number 2 branded on the back of the headstock. It's a maple body and neck with a rosewood fretboard. It has German made tuning pegs which I don't believe I have ever seen on an Ovation before. There are no other markings or labels anywhere else on this bass. BTW, it is NOT for sale. It came from my Fathers estate.
