Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Up for sale is a vintage 1970’s circa brown vinyl case cover with Ovation silk screened on the front. This cover is in excellent condition with no rips, tears or Blemishes that I can find. Fits the vintage brown cases very tightly. Not sure if it would fit a newer black case but will check later. $100 for the case and shipping is on you, probably not more than $10. More photos upon request

I have similar cover. Yes, it does fit the newer black cases, but somehow even a little more more tightly?! I guess the newer black case are slightly bigger? I always used church outings, back in the day, when I had my 1990 Elite 1768-4, w/OHSC pictured in my album here on OFC.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Maybe it would fit today’s deep bowl cases if the cover was placed in the sun for 20 minutes to provided greater elasticity, but I could not otherwise make it fit. Any chance these covers came in different sizes? |

To the best of my knowlwdge, I got the very last Ovation case cover from TMS warehouse in 1992. A far as I can tell, Ovation only made this particular kind of case cover in, "ONE SIZE FITS ALL", i.e., to fit the older brown coloured OHS cases of that time, as extra protection for the new ADAMAS guitar, when it first came out, in 1976. The OvationTribute.com site shows an Ovation vinyl gig bag of some similar colour/ type, but I don't think it's the sme as the brown vinyl case cover(s) we have?

Location: When?? | I had one of those. Early 80's issue I believe. And yes, even the old, smaller brown case was a very tight fit, but if you wanted to lessen minor bump shocks during transit it was definitely thick enough to help with that (and to protect your case). Funny memory-- taking a friendly ration of ribbing one night at a bluegrass jam for showing up with it. Someone started a circle where the word "case" was jokingly slipped into most every song and sentence for about 15 minutes. Head held low in shame, I never took it there again.. and then they started in on the tease again because I DIDN"T bring it. Ruthless people, musicians. Can't win. |

Some of the old brown cases were big enough to fit an Adamas body, some not. I´m quite sure that there were different measures but the case covers are all for the slightly smaller ones. Beside that all plastic materials loose volume with the time and all old covers I saw so far would fit very tight.
But I LOVE the looks of the brown case with the brown cover, all other cases look the same and are 1. boring and 2. they heat up in the sun within seconds.

Location: Colorado | The correct technique is to heat it up...open it up - put it in a closed car with the windows up out in the sun for about 8 hours. Keep the hard case cool. Then it'll stretch over the fatter cases - zip it up....that'll work for a couple weeks - lather rinse repeat. |
