I just picked up a 1979 Country Artist with a 2-knob pre-amp that's missing the volume knob.

I know I can replace it with a generic knob but thought I'd check here first. Anyone have one they want to sell?

While I'm at it, is there any difference between a 1624 and a 1624-4 or is it just different coding for different years?
Mine is a 1624 and is a natural color.

Thanks.

The -4 just means natural color.

But, why doesn't mine have the "-4" when it's a natural color as well?

Because even back then, they saw you coming and wanted to drive you nuts?

Maybe they put the label on before they knew what color it would be.

I knew it, I just knew that had to be it!

In any case, it's a nice light honey color with no cracks, finish or otherwise, and the top only has a couple of small dings that didn't break the finish. For a 39 year old guitar, there are almost no signs of wear, even on the finger board and no fingernail or pick marks on the top.
