I'm so happy to share with you the first pics of Rémy's U-681-T CUSTOM WIDE NECK .
It's a beautiful instrument and another example of the talent of the guys in New Hartford.
Maybe some people will not like the design (ala Marcel Dadi) but the final result is exactly what Remy was looking for.
I'm sure that Rémy will be glad to tell us more about this guitar.
Enjoy the pics.

Never could get used to looking at the Marcel Dadi guitars.
Am I the only one who doesn't like this epaulet configuration? |

If I ever did a custom order myself, this would be very close to what it would be. |

Akami, somehow this is a Marcel Dadi signature guitar so it's not the question if someone likes the lower epi or not - it just has to be there.

| What an exquisite finish! The satin simulates lighty textured Linen. Also, where did Ovation get the semi-jumbo fret wire? Is it stainless? This guitar is a fine example of custom-order instruments. |

Location: Angoulême - France | Thanks my friend Jerome for this post and thanks everybody for your congrats !
I'm really glad to share with the OFC family that moving dreming plan becoming now this so beautiful Adamas. Hi dreamed about this guitar for several years, I met Marcel in 1989 and played one time with him in Paris in 1991 (an other time in a castle in 1991 and that’s were we made the deal with is early Adamas I bought)...
I was expecting for an acoustic and sober Adamas and decided to do make this UT by the factory one year ago, when I played guitar for a tribute to the legend (and met also my friend Jerome there) ! It's really a great and good job they made : it's the best wide neck 1 7/8 I ever played. The acoustic sound is stunning : clear, strong, well balanced… and musical. The finish is perfect : I really love this guitar.
Many details have been discussed with the factory : color (Pantone 134 C : they sent me graphit table samples !), epaulets, suspended top (none on standard UT), neck carve, width and thickness, neck angle, action, beveled fingerboard, frets semi-jumbo (I just asked for it)…
Darren Wallace and Mark Lammana (and the others) really try to make the best guitar for each guitar they have to realise at the custom shop. To my idea it was not a real custom shop but this guitar (and others like OFC or Custom UT) shows that they are really able to make with you your dream guitar. So : dream and make it !
Thanks to my friends Jerome and Tom for their help, ideas and support !!!
Best regards from Fance !

I'll take bracing pictures tonight : excellent idea ! To my opinion they just modified the bracing to make it shorty but we'll see that. Thanks for congrats : your wonderful custom acoustic UT inspired me...

If I told you guys what I'm thinking of special ordering, you'd probably think I was nuts.
I mean, more than usual...... |

Location: Angoulême - France | It's funny to see your remarks about this treble epaulet : it looks like a stroke for some of you where it is the best treble epaulet design in my mind ! You guys are probably objectively right, aesthetically and acoustically... and the subjective difference is certainly in my heart : I LOVE IT !!! However, it's really a wonderdul Adamas they made at the factory and I'm glad to share this plan with you.
You're right Paul in France it screams "Marcel" and as said Karl it as just to be there ! |

Besides, the treble epaulets look much better when the guitar is horizontal and being played. Heck, all guitars look better when they're being played. |

The Adamas custom shop website is very sparse on details regarding "non-standard" finishes. I want to know what they can and can't do, since I pretty much never see any unique Adamas finishes... |

He's also a very good guitar player.
I'm always so proud when he comes at home and takes one of my guitar.
He should visit me pretty soon and I hope that we will be able to record a tune on his "Dadi's Custom" Adamas to hear the sound of this guitar.
For those who want to hear what he's able to do with a guitar in hands, please CLICK HERE!!
I must say that this tune was recorded after some beers (maybe too many beers... :D )
Even if some of you don't like the lower epaulet, let me tell you that the arrival of this guitar is a great event for the very small community of O's fans in France and I really hope to have the rare privilege to play it next weekend!!!

There are many, many options. I bet they can do pretty much any combo you like and is available to them. I had mine built from the ground up in a configuration that hadn't been done before... |

Location: Angoulême - France | Jeff is right : you can give them your pantone color choice and they'll make it even with a burst with two specified colors (and they'll send you samples). If you look the specs of this guitar many details (end not only Bell's palsy eppauletes !)are not indicated on the custom shop website : just ask and they'll reply. For example I had like to have the VIP with an acoustic bridge ans under saddle thin line piezo but they couldn't do that with VIP, but everyhting else they could... and now they are able to make a 1 7/8 original slothead neck... 6 monthes ago they couldn't (for example an 1 7/8 OFC guitar : they can !).

I heard that about the original slothead as well. But when I tried to order my "OFC" with a 1 7/8 neck about six weeks ago they said they could not do it.
And, by the way, congrats to a beautiful guitar!

Jeff I took a bracing picture but I don't find where and how to post it...??? !

Or just have Jerome post them. You can also email them to me through the OFC and I will post them. |

Jeff : what do you think about bracing compared to your UT with usual treble epaulet ? |

I'm very interested to hear the sound of this guitar. The soundhole location and different bracing must give a different tone than the traditional designs... |

Location: south east Michigan | I think we got sidetracked on the placement of the eppelett. What is really raises the eyebrows is the color. And why? Because it's very "natural"... almost spruce-like. Do you think it would be a good idea if Darren & the boys came up with something that made a textured top look even more like spruce? Or that that be to fake looking? |

Location: Angoulême - France | Brad is right ! My idea was to find a color that looks like a natural spruce colored graphit table ! At the beginning the factory tried to convince me to choose a standard burst color but I didn't want, so they asked to give them a Pantone code color, I didn't know what it was but I looked for it and found this 134C... in my mind looking like a natural vintage spruce color ! Then they sent me samples and it was OK. For the end of the story : if they could have make a spruce-looking top with wood veins I'd do it ! |
