Location: Italy | I've recently buy an old Legend 1617 , what a great guitar! But there's a crack in the top and the top itself seems to be waving (warped ) maybe due to lack of humidity . I don't know much about this guitar , the seller didn't play it in the last 3 years and told me that the crack has always been there ( He buy this guitar from a collector some years ago).
The action is ok , the sound is great so, I must do something or I can leave it as is ?
Maybe glueing the crack and repair it with some cleats can do something, or maybe with an humidifier into the soundhole can correct the waving soundboard ?
Thanks in advance |

But you should humidify the guitar before attacking the crack.
I have a GCXT Flame T that had a big crack in the top when I bought it.
After humidifying it the crack closed-up.
All that I need to do was add a few drops of Crazy Glue from the inside.
So, if the crack is in the wood humidifying it will close the crack somewhat.
Smarter people should be along with better advice.

Just humidify it in the case when you are not playing it.

Location: Sydney, Australia | It's also possible one of the braces has come loose. To check this you will need to take the strings off, or get them loose enough so you can get your hand in the sound hold. It should be possible to wriggle a loose brace - they shouldn't move if you try gently. |

Location: Italy | Thanks ! I've found something inside the soundboard didn't see before (my fault) . Someone , somewhere , put the cleats to close the crack so it will never close again . I think it's better to put a little piece of wood inside the portion that is open , did you think it's a good idea or not? |

Location: Italy | Probably this is the reason why the crack didn't move over the years, as the seller told me |
