Location: Bury St Edmunds England | Hi everyone. I own a Adamas 1581 which now needs a new battery. This is the first time I have needed to do this and have tried and tried without success. The battery is inside a steel box, attached to a piece of foam which is attached to the inside just over from where the tone and volume controls are.
Due to its position it can only be accessed with a single hand. I can not tell if the steel cover is designed to flip/slide open/pulls off, I have tried taking photos of the inside but no joy. It does appear that the foam block might be detachable as I can tell that the foam is fitted over a lug which is joined to the inside of the body.
For what it's worth, when I plugged into my amp I got no sound BUT if I turned the amp up to full volume I could just about detect a small amount of guitar sound from the amp so am assuming it is the battery.
Even trying on-line hasn't answered the question and even Adamas manuals seem to think the battery is situated elsewhere and therefore reachable.
I'd really appreciate some help.

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Is there a little screw head on the outside of the bowl where the battery box is located?
If there is, you turn that counter-clockwise one-quarter turn to release the battery box.
Otherwise, the metal box cover slides off.

Location: Bury St Edmunds England | Thanks for your reply-yes there is, didn't spot that, I was working under a spotlight.
I've now got the battery compartment out from the body, any idea how iit's supposed to open? It hasn't been opened in years and I don't want to force it in the wrong place to try and get it apart. |

Location: Muenster/Germany | When I close the battery pack I use a little drop of silicone spray on the edges of the cover, this will make it much easier to open next time. |
