well i finally was able to get this done. Since this is the second time I've installed the OpPro Sudio, I got some of the kinks figured out in my process. The hardest part was getting the positioning in the right place. If not done correctly, you're hosed. So don't try this yourself unless you are completely confident in your ability to do it. I used the can to draw out a template, then did a LOT of eyeballing and marking. THEN ... prior to going at it with the Dremmel, I had to make some big adjustments again due to the difference in the contour of the side of the bowl and the flat template I had made. It took a LOT of time to carefully cut and check, cut and check. Once again... If you don't have the skills and patience...DON'T DO THIS YOURSELF1... let the mothership do it.

I'll go back and deal with the holes later, using fiberglass tape and filler. But I'm not concerned about it right now. I DO still need to put some more shims under the bridge, as it is different than the old bridge. ...Oh...and it DOES sound GREAT! . .... I just need to score on a VIP drop in unit to play with also.

Those holes can't be where the original two knobs were.

It's more than I would have tried on my own. As long as you are happy with the outcome it's all that matters.

One of the holes is the screw hole where the battery holder was. the third hole was where the preamp is now. I filled the ones on my Adamas with fiberglass resin tape and they disappeared. matching paint for the bowl was a pain, but I am artist and mixing colors comes pretty easy to me. i used acrylic artist colors and blended it in. I'll do the same for this one, once I get a little time and my leg heals better.

That's a scary job to take on. Still, I have a 1537 I love and would love to upgrade the electronics.
