Several companies sell strap buttons online, including Stewmac.com, Allparts.com, etc.

It's just a matter of finding one that matches the style of the other one.

Personally, I like the Dunop strap buttons, so I replace the stock Ovation buttons with these. I buy them from Allparts.com

The thing is that the screws for the buttons I have don't go all the way in. Do I need a special type?

The "mollies" that hold the screws take machine screws.
You can hunt down the exact thread by bringing one to a really good Hardware Store (not Home Despot).
Or you can contact the Repair Shop at New Hartford CT.

I only use Dunlop strap locks and have done so since the 80's. First thing I do when I get a guitar.

Threads for the machine screws are 6/32"

The mollys or jack nut/rivet nut, as they're also known, can be ordered either by contacting the MS or by ordering them through a company like McMaster-Carr. (See: McMaster-Carr rivet nut)

Actually to be all the way correct the size of the machine screw is 6 and the threads are 32 to the inch. U can always check it with a pitch gauge.
