Here's my 'new' 1657. It's not quite as nice as yours. It had a tortoise shell pick guard that was used to hide the cracked and sunken top above the bridge. There's also a couple of big cracks below the bridge.
I guess I'll just have to re-top it with torrefied Adi spruce. |

Ooo! Will you be able save the Herringbone binding?
Or is that available pre-made like the Abalone (mother of toilet seat) binding.
And... I answered my own QUESTION

It's not quite as small and tight as the Ovation herringbone, but it'll be an acceptable substitute.
I looked for MOP (MOTS?) herringbone binding, but no one makes it, so I'll have to settle for the stuff Stewmac sells. |

Why would anyone peel a commemorative label off of an Anniversary?

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA | Hey OMA, and DAN,
Yeah, pretty much, I'd say so, too, and dollars to donuts, probably all 3 at once! Maybe they got a hate on for Ovations? It's the mother-of-all head-scratchers, for sure, let me tell you what?! Some peoples' kids shouldn't be let outta the house! Does this person's Mom let him/her run with scissors, 'cause that what it look like to me. Or, maybe it's HOT, and they took the serial number off, so it could NOT be traced? Just sayin'. Yikes!
