This could be an interesting alt sound in the studio. And a fun couch guitar. |

Location: Canada | That's not all. I think there were a a few parlors ordered by a fellow named John Mitzel, all possibly based on the '97 collectors. There were probably more than 1000 of the collectors made in 97/98 and I see quite afew of them around on ebay etc.

The bridge on that guitar has a weird white halo around it, almost like it popped off and was re-glued. |

I can assure you that the bridge is as mint as the day it left the factory. Really? I've never seen an Adamas with this white halo around the bridge.
If this is your guitar, perhaps you could post a close-up image of the bridge like what was taken for the CL Parlor?

It is how the factory made it, but I can take another picture later this weekend so it is easier to see. In the meantime, here's a picture John sent in to the tribute site, and you can see this "halo" there as well.

Fair enough.
FWIW, I'm not trying to gin your sale. I noticed a weird aspect to the photos posted and only wanted to bring it up for discussion. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I understand Dan, and I wasn't even going to chime in on this thread until it was suggested that the bridge had popped off and was reglued. I'm trying not to jump to the defensive as I've heard nothing but great things about you, and it just now feels that I have to prove something I know not to be true, which is difficult as I am not as much of an expert as many other people on here are. So I'm not sure what to say, because it is there, but to me it is not an indication of damage or of the bridge being reglued as it wasn't. I honestly never even noticed it until it was brought up here.
So I looked a bit closer and noticed that in the right lighting it also shows up in a couple of other locations as well. So maybe it just left the factory this way? I also reached out to John Mitzel this week to make sure, and he confirmed that in his possession nothing was removed, replaced, adjusted, or repaired. So the only owners of this Parlor were John and I, and neither of us had anything removed, replaced, adjusted, or repaired.
So I’m not quite sure what else to say now. I realize I'm still somewhat of a new member here, and if my character/honesty was ever in question please refer to Mark in Boise or Nancy who know me quite well. And please feel free to contact John as well if you know him to confirm any of this. Though I know he doesn't hop on here as he once did.
(That's also a dog hair below the bridge in the first picture, not a crack or scratch, in case anyone was wondering)

Thanks for the pics and info. As you say, it's probably just the combination of camera angle, lighting, reflectivity and color of the surface that makes this visible.
FWIW, bridges pop off sound boards and are re-glued with alarming regularity. This isn't a bad thing. In fact, that's why Ovation started bolting down the bridges on stained wood tops. The bridge popped off my 1619 one night after I re-built it. It made a heck of a racket, scaring the pet birds and sleeping wife.
I wasn't questioning your character or honesty.
GLWTS.

If so, that "halo" might just be dust that doesn't get easily picked up when wiping off the guitar? |

Which one? .
The 12 string. It´s on the way to Germany...I will have to be patient the next weeks.
But Sam does not need to be too unhappy, he got my red Adamas for it.
I will report everything about the guitar later. |

Jetzt musst Du mich aber mal besuchen (oder ich Dich)! Das Ding interessiert mich nämlich sehr. Die Nutweite sieht auf dem Bild sehr schmal aus...

Congratulations Detlef,
now you have to visit me ( or I you). This thing is very interesting to me. The nutwidth looks very narrow on the picture.....

Wouldn´t it be too head-heavy? And parlor guitars are not very bassy.
What I am waiting for is an Ovation JUMBO guitar. Or better, Jumbo 12string. But please with contour bowl. |
