Price reduction and some better photos. This is a beautiful guitar and is NOT a factory 2nd or FRG guitar. This guitar is in mint condition.

I chose this specific model to be my primary plugged-in guitar because it was about the only American Ovation I could find that had the features that I wanted:

First it is one of the last Ovations made using the Kaman bar neck instead of the LX neck system, the Kaman bar neck makes the guitar rock solid and stable and not as prone to need neck resets like the LX necks. This is also one of the last modern American made high-end Ovations that does not have the contour bowl, it has the normal round mid-depth bowl. The contour bowl is fine for unplugged playing while sitting but I found that for standing with a strap the contour bowl was cumbersome. This model was one of the first to use the laser cut-in epaulets (see photos) which makes for a much more beautiful and durable finish over the surface glued-on epaulets. This model is also one of the few high end Ovations that does not have a bound neck. To each his own but I prefer a neck without the light colored binding that is prone to cracking. This model also has the tear drop shaped OP-40 preamp and can which can be easily swapped out for other high end preamps. Finally the guitar is just gorgeous, the yellow tone of the fine grain spruce set off by stark dark ebony fret board and bridge highlighted by a unique red and black body binding make for a beautifully understated but classy looking guitar.

Price reduced to $650 plus actual shipping costs or you can pick it up locally in SE Michigan. Send me a PM or email me at koeb@att.net.

Hey, Brian T.,
Where were you a year ago with this beauty? Yes, I do have my NOS 1993 Collectors now, but this guitar was what I was looking for, when the 1993 Collector's first came on Kijiji-Ottawa, in July 2015. Timing is everything, and did I mention location, location, location, eh? "A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush." It's a bargain for someone in the USA, for sure. I wish you much success with the sale.
