A friends with an OP30 thin line pick up has no signal. But the preamp lights up and the tuner works.
Looking for a way to test it.

Can the you test the preamp by putting into an Ovation OP50, VIP5, Op-pro, op pro studio or Idea preamp.

If the Tuner works, there must be a signal coming from the pickup.
Check to see if the output jack is properly connected to the preamp can.
That should fix it.

An OP-30 has six connector in a staggered arrangement.
I know that an OP-40 will fit in an OP-30 can.
I have never seen an OP-50 in person.
OP-Pro, VIP-5, Studio, and iDea, all have eight connectors in a "block" arrangement.
So you couldn't put any of the preamps in the OP-30 can unless the OP-50 fit it.

But you could remove the whole can of an OP Pro, Studio, VIP, or iDea and install it in the guitar...
If this is an Elite style guitar you could just hook it all up through the manhole cover.
Plug-in the Pickup and the output jack...
I it doesn't work, it is the output jack.

Good Luck and report back...
