I have a 1980s 1651 walnut serial 278249 that I would either repair or sell depending on how much it would cost. Any advice on who in NYC area to bring it to or how to get an appraisal? It has cracks on the fretboard. Thank you.

The Ovation Factory and Repair Shop is in New Hartford CT... 125 miles away.

Depending on how bad the cracks are they could by repaired DIY.
Maybe you could post photos, or post a link to photos on an online photo service.

Those cracks in the fingerboard are from drying-out.

That might also have caused that crack next to the neck. Or stress.

The strings on the "low" side spin the other way.

As to the cracks... Any Guitar Repair Shop should be able to fix that.

Ovation could supply the correct preamp, and a new Saddle (cuz that one is in rough shape).

Without sending it to New Hartford, you could get a new Saddle.
You could get a Saddle with a Mono pickup and a Mono preamp.
You could just get the Saddle now and use it Acoustic-only, and worry about the preamp later.

Or... You could just sell it.

Thanks for your time and advice. What's a fair price to list it for if I decide to sell?

I would like to post it for sale. How do I get access to do that? Thanks.
