What type of finish does Ovation use on their Sitka tops?

Joined: October 2007 Posts: 18 Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota Hi all... probably a stupid question and I am guessing off the start it is a Nitro-Celluose type finish but I am really not sure and couldn't find out on the web. The older O's had some kind of polymer resin which was thick and prone to the finish cracks we all have seen. I don't know what's used now but it's a lot thinner and probably still polymer based. I'm pretty sure its polyurathane. Its a hard finish. Thus no pick guard needed.
