| Hello, I am a new owner of a late 70 / early 80s UK2
I bought this guitar off of craigslist for 400 and i feel like its a steal.
serial number E12281
I have a few questions, any help would be more than appreciated.
1. I need to get the truss rod wrench. is this a standard ovation tool?
2. there is a screw in the back of the body that i think goes to the bride, but I'm too afraid to mess with it.
3. the mono input only works with the bridge pickup and the stereo input will work if the jack is halfway in. Does anyone have a wiring schematic?
I will attach pics.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I edited your post to show the pics. Not sure what you were doing wrong. Anyway, there ya go. Nice Axe. The screw on the back adjusts the height of the rear of the bridge essentially setting the angle at which the strings pass over the saddle. The truss rod uses a standard socket, although I forget what size. I have one I use and I have no idea what size it is, other than the right size. Someone else likely knows.
Upon your response, someone will be along to upgrade you to access/post in the rest of the site.

| Thanks you very much for the info. this is my first ovation, i have been holding out for the 12 string Queen used... so please forgive the endelss questions. if i unscrew the srew in the back all the way could i cause any problem? just curious really, im probably not gonna change it at all. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the height of the saddles on the bridge? Is there a schmatic archive anywhere? The guitar currently has a wiring issue, or an input jack issue. The mono input only outputs the bridge pickup. Here are some pictures fingers crossed... " border="0" />" border="0" />" border="0" />" border="0" />" border="0" /> |

For pictures from Photobucket, you need to right click on the picture and then "copy URL". When you are editing here, just use the "Rich Text Edit" function and you can click the photo icon, paste the URL copied and you are done.
If you pictures are on your hard-drive... just check the "upload attachments" button when you post and you can upload the photos. either way works. |

Location: Jet City | The saddle height is adjusted by the two post screws.
You should set up the back bridge screw proportionate to the height you set the saddles
As for the stereo input, you'll need an 'insert cable' and 2 amps to check it
Are you sure the neck pickup is working? That looks like factory wiring in there, doesn't look modified.
Try calling customer service for the schematic. They might have something

| If anyone has one of these can you tell me what happens when you just plug in the stereo input and what happens when you just plug into the mono output.
Upon further inspection I think the stereo input jack will need to be repaired or replaced. |

If you use a regular cable, it doesn't work. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | They refer to is as in insert cable as that is its most common purpose these days. On most mixing boards there are "insert" points for effects on the channels, busses and outputs. The signal path is usually tip=send, Ring=return. For the purposes of this guitar... Tip=Bridge Pickup, Ring= neck pickup (that may be backwards, I forget, but it's easy enough to figure out.)

If you go searching for a 'guitar splitter cable' or 'y-cable' or whatever, you're almost guaranteed to get the wrong thing. search for 'insert cable' if you're looking to buy. |
